In Viet Nam, a country of more than 92 million people, it is estimated that 460 000 people live with epilepsy. Nearly 80% of them do not have access to the treatment they need.

To address this treatment gap, the Ministry of Health of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, launched the Fight Against Epilepsy Initiative in 2012 in 82 communes within the country.

This video highlights the stories of people involved in the Initiative, which provided treatment and care to more 600 people living with epilepsy, who had not previously been diagnosed. The treatment gap across project sites was reduced by 38%.
